Police in Wangi estate, Lari constituency have recovered the body of a woman who went missing two days ago.
The body was found dumped in a farm at Waginge shopping center.
According to her uncle John Kihinya, the 20-year-old left home on Sunday to buy vegetable but failed to return.
“She left home for the market on Sunday and that is the last day I saw her alive,” he told reporters.
Police said the woman's body had injuries and that she could have been raped before being killed.
“The body had markers on the neck and we believe the attackers raped her before straggling her to death,” an investigative officer said.
Residents complained of rising insecurity in the area alleging that criminals are roaming freely in the area.
Musa Kariuki alleged that cases of people being mugged and robbed in the broad day light are high.
“We want to ask the police to increase their surveillance and deal with the criminals,” he said.
