A middle aged woman has been found dead in Yatta, Machakos County.
The deceased's body was discovered at her rented house in Matuu on Saturday.
The incident was confirmed by Matuu Police Station's deputy OCS Nicholas Wambua.
Wambua said the cause of the unidentified woman's death had not been established.
He said the body had been moved to Yatta Funeral Home for postmortem and preservation.
Wambuga said police had launched investigations into the matter.
"We couldn't immediately establish the cause of her death, we will have to wait until postmortem is conducted," Wambua said.
The body of the woman was discovered by fellow tenants after she went missing for three days.
Her lifeless body was found lying on the floor by the tenants who called the houses' caretaker.
"We had not seen her for three days, we wondered where she could be. We went to her house and knocked without response," Said Lucy, a tenant.
"On entering, we found her lying on the floor lifeless. We notified the caretaker who called the police," Lucy added.
She said deceased used to sell vegetables at Matuu market before her demise.
