Residents of Ebur-Mbaruk ward have appealed to the county government of Nakuru to consider putting up a maternity in the area.

Through the area Member of County Assembly Samuel Kariuki, the residents said that the facility will save pregnant women from the agony of having to travel for tens of kilometers when in labour.

He said that for long women in the area have been forced to travel to Nakuru town to seek maternity services.

The MCA narrated how one pregnant woman gave birth in his car while being taken to a Nakuru hospital.

Nakuru Deputy Governor Erick Korir promised to send the health CeC to the area to assess the situation.
