A woman has given birth to five babies at the Matata Nursing Home in Oyugis town, Homa Bay county.

According to reports, 30 year old Jacinta Akinyi gave birth to three boys and two girls however two of the children died shortly after.

Despite her already haven given birth to four children without any complications, Akinyi narrated how she experienced labor pains this time round which made a bit worried.

"I was rushed to the hospital by my grandmother immediately I felt labour pains. I gave birth to five children but two died later," she said as reported by The Star.

Fortunately for the three babies that survived, doctors have confirmed that they are healthy and remain in good condition.

"The children are stable. We've realised that the biological functions of their bodies are okay," Matata Nursing Officer Kennedy  Otieno said.

Akinyi and her new borns have been referred to Kisii Level Five Hospital.

She has also called upon well wishers to assist her in settling her medical bills.

"We're financially challenged and cannot pay medical bills for specialised treatment," Akinyi said.
