Confirming the incident on Tuesday, Ruiru police boss Isaac Thuranira said Bancy Mukami stabbed her husband, James Maina, twice in the stomach following a family disagreement on July 27. He was rushed to the Ruiru sub-district hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The OCPD said the two fought and the deceased had at first stabbed the wife on her left side of the face but she struggled with him until she managed to overpower and stab him.

Thuranira said that the accused will be taken to court and be charged with murder.

He added that the area has become prone to cases of violent crime and murder and cautioned residents against committing such misconduct. He said those who fail to adhere to peaceful co-existence will be apprehended and charged in court.

The police boss also urged families to seek amicable ways of resolving disputes other than engaging in physical fights.
