A 27 year old woman was on Wednesday arraigned before a Thika court for sending an abusive text message to her former husband.

The accused Mary Nyambura appeared before the Thika acting Chief Magistrate Stephen Mbungi where the court heard that on March 28 she sent an abusive text message to her former husband.

The woman pleaded not guilty and was released on a Sh50,000 bond and a surety of the same amount.

Nyambura will now appear in the same court on May 16 for the case hearing.

The court’s Chief Inspector Nancy Muthuri read the message Nyambura had sent to the complainant, Douglas Njeru.

The complainant reported the matter to Thika police station where the warrant of arrest was issued.
