A 50-year-old woman from Pipeline area in Nakuru is in dilemma after a one-day child was left in her custody.

Ann Muthoni said she was given the infant by the mother only to learn she has fled.

Muthoni said the woman asked her to have the baby as she excused her for a short call at the Lions Garden in Nakuru.

"The woman in her 20s approached me and asked for my help, she said she was out for a short call, pleased that she had entrusted me with her child, I accepted" she told the Standard.

She sought help from the police after efforts to trace the mother bore no fruits forcing her to walk home with the child. Muthoni is calling for help from the police and other well-wishers to have the woman traced.
