A 37-year-old woman is in hiding after allegedly killing Kenya Simbas player Mike Okombe.
Reports say MaryAnne Mumbi stabbed the 15-aside player in the chest after they had an argument at a friend's birthday party in Nakuru.
Okombe was rushed to the Mediheal Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police have begun investigations as they hunt down the woman.
Okombe's death has sent shockwaves as he is the third top rugby player in Kenya to die in under a year.
“Kindly keep the family and the entire Nakuru rugby fraternity in your prayers during these trying times,” said Topfry Nakuru RFC .
In 2016, Nondies center Ogeto Gecheo died after succumbing to an injury sustained during their Kenya Cup game against Strathmore Leos.
A fortnight later, Mwamba RFC scrum-half Victor Wayodi died from cardiac arrest when he collapsed during their Kenya Cup tie against Top Fry Nakuru.
