A woman was burnt to death in Migori for allegedly stealing a chicken from her in-law.

According to authorities, the woman identified as Irene Akinyi died while undergoing treatment at Lwala Health center after her in-law burnt her using petrol.

Akinyi brother-in-law said that she sold the deceased hen which has striking similarities,

"She sold the deceased hen knowingly and left hers which was sick. When the deceased asked her ,a confrontation ensued that later led to death," Patrick Odingo the brother-in-law is quoted by Standard.

The incident was confirmed by Rongo OCPD Kisaka Muganda who said investigation are ongoing.
