A woman linked to the murder of a clinical officer who was stabbed to death in unclear circumstances has handed herself to police in Likoni, Mombasa.The 24-year-old woman who hails from Karama, Tigania East in Meru County is said to have been the last person seen with the clinical officer.The clinical officer, Patrick Kaimenyi, who worked at Marris dispensary in Timbwani, was stabbed to death by three armed men and his body dumped near the ocean at Senti Kumi area, Likoni.Likoni DCI Henry Ndombi confirmed that the woman was in police custody, adding that she had some injuries on her body which she claims were inflicted by the attackers.He, however, said it would not be wise to jump to conclusions until investigations are complete.According to Baraka FM, Kaimenyi had asked the woman to accompany him to buy supper before going to visit his new born baby.The woman agreed and after buying a packet of chips at Ferry area, she persuaded r Kaimenyi to use a different route where they were attacked by the armed men.“We agreed to use another road at Senti Kumi area. Suddenly we were accosted by four men, two of them attacked Kaimenyi while the other two beat and raped me,” the woman told a team of investigators as quoted by the daily.The woman, whose name has been withheld, further claimed that she ran off leaving Kaimenyi with the armed men, adding that she has been hiding at a friend’s house in Likoni.“The woman has claimed she was raped but we are waiting for the doctors’ report. We asked the family and the public to stop speculations and wait for police to complete investigations,” said Ndombi.
