Police in Masinga are looking for a middle-aged woman who torched her house and escaped after a family dispute.
Confirming the incident Muthesya location chief, Senior chief Benjamin Musyoka Wambua said that the woman had been having continuous disputes with her in-laws for some time before committing the crime, where he disclosed that the woman had recently reported the case to Manyatta AP camp.
Chief Wambua said that the woman arrived at her house where she sleeps with her husband and children in Manyatta area on Sunday afternoon where she set the house ablaze before going into hiding.
Wambua said the house went ablaze and nothing was recovered as property worth thousands among them three sacks of maize and a sack of beans went up in flames.
"The fire burned down everything in the house and nothing was recovered, the woman went into hiding after the crime," said Wambua.
He confirmed that there was no one who got injured in the incident adding that the police have started a manhunt for the woman.
He also asked residents to help the police by providing information concerning the matter.
