A woman who jumped into a borehole on Tuesday  in an attempted suicide after a fight with her boyfriend was charged on Wednesday in a Nakuru court.

The court heard that the accused Ruth Wanjiru attempted to take her life in Likia, Nakuru county on Tuesday after a disagreement with her lover.

Wanjiru, who admitted she attempted suicide, defended herself saying she was not in her senses due to the love she had on her boyfriend.

The accused told the court that her lover demanded that they separate something that prompted her to attempt suicide.

Wanjiru pleaded for forgiveness saying she will never attempt to commit suicide again.

The court set her free.
