[Photo: thetab.com]A woman on Tuesday pleaded guilty at a Ruiru court that she drugged a man and later stole his valuables and money after she hired a taxi that chauffeured them to a lodging while he was unconscious.Judy Wanja Mwaura (27), pleaded guilty that she stole from the complainant his 2 phones, a wristwatch and his money after hiring a room and using a taxi which dropped them after the drinking spree.Wanja, however, pleaded for leniency before the Kiambu principal magistrate Justus Kituku, saying that they were negotiating with the intention of settling the matter outside court.She was charged that on 11 August 2017 at Link bar and lodging within Zimmerman in Kasarani Sub-County, jointly with others not before Court, she stole 2 mobile phones make Samsung A5 and Galaxy S3 a wrist watch make Chelsea and Sh 88,500 all, being the property of Mark Maina John.Prosecution Counsel Mary Ongaki told the court that on the material day, the complainant was at Maskani bar Ruaka, where he was having some drinks in the company of his friends. As the night progressed, the accused in the company of another joined them and they started drinking together.That was when the complainant got a blackout and the accused hired a taxi which they used to ferry him to Zimmerman. On arrival, they hired a room at Links Bar and Lodging without his knowledge.The prosecutor further explained that he was taken to a room where he slept like the dead and was only awakened by cleaners in the morning who intended to clean the room. That was when he realized that his Sh16,000 which was in his pocket was missing.On 14th August he also visited Safaricom Moi Avenue branch to obtain an M-Pesa statement and found that some Sh56, 500 had also been transferred to the same number.Both Statements were then received at Kasarani Police Station and kept as exhibits.The accused was arrested and charged with the offence.The magistrate set the case for mention on September 28 to confirm with the complainant that they were talking with a view of withdrawing the case.
