A woman was arraigned in a Thika Court today accused of littering in Ruiru.
Charity Muthoni Maina, 35, a mother of two from Kimbo, Ruiru appeared before resident magistrate Esther Mburu and pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution told the court that on March 11, Muthoni was found disposing communal waste in Githurai 45 where she works at a grocery.
The accused denied to ask the witness questions citing the absence of her advocate. Justice Mburu, before giving her ruling, decried the rise in littering observed that there were too many cases on the on the same.
The accused was handed a Sh 50,000 cash bail and the case will resume on May 21.
In the same courty, a 21-year-old lady was arraigned accused of theft.
Marion Wangeci from Juja appeared pleaded innocence to the charge where she was accused of failing to provide security for a laptop that belonged to George Kiarie. Wangeci was the attendant at the time when the dell laptop was stolen on March 25.
Wangeci told the court that her job was only to oversee the running of the cyber cafe desktops which she had done since January 2014 to the date of the crime.
She was released on a Sh 40,000 cash bail and the case to resumes on April 22.
