Lamu County woman rep's relative was on Sunday shot and robbed of his cash in Mombasa.
According to sources, a gunman and his accomplice on a motorcycle accosted and shot Mohamed Ali Yusuf, who is a relative to women representative Ruweida Obo.
Yusuf was with a driver Nasib Mohamed when the incident happened.
Police, who have already launched investigation into the incident, said the two were attacked in a vehicle that was transporting fish from Lamu to Mombasa.
Insecurity cases in the region have been high as suspected Al Shabaab militants have been terrorizing locals.
Police have beefed up security in the region to curb the attacks by the Somalia based militia group.
