A woman in Kakamega is seeking help after three of her family members went blind on Thursday.

Linet Owenga from Lunyita village in Lugari constituency said the three- her mother, sister and brother unexpectedly went blind and even doctors have failed to establish what caused the problem.

She said her mother, before losing her eyesight, had complained of itchy eyes the previous day.

Her brother and sister she added had spent Wednesday doing their daily chores but woke up on Thursday blind.

The brother and sister who she did not identify are in Forms One and Two respectively.

“They had not complained of anything,” Lunyita told reporters at their home.

"We have taken them to hospital, even doctors haven’t told us what the problem is. Am worried they may never see again.”

She pleaded with area MP Ayub Savula to intervene and raise money for the three to be taken to hospital for specialised treatment.

She says she now has the responsibility of taking care of the three.
