The woman, Usuba Noor, was shot on the back during the attack, and she is battling for her life in the hospital.

The attackers, suspected to be from the violent Bahgere clan from Wajir attacked the sleepy Fadiwein village, which is majorly inhabited by the Auliyan community.

At least eleven houses were torched with the attackers making way with 304 goats and five camels. They fired gunshots killing a cow on the spot.

The two warring communities have been involved in a tussle over a disputed boundary that the Bahgere clan allege the area falls within the jurisdiction of Wajir South.

On their part, Auliyan clan says it is legally in Garissa County.

The area has now remained deserted with no sign of life.
