Police in Igembe Central, Meru are pursuing a middle-aged woman who is alleged to have locked her husband in a house then setting it on fire.

Helen Kawira was the third wife of the deceased, Christopher Kimani, and she reportedly disappeared immediately after the heinous act.

Athiru Rujine Location Chief Joshua Mungathia confirmed the incident saying that reasons for the lady doing so are not yet known.

It is alleged that Kimani was polygamous and Kawira was his third wife.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Meru Level Five Hospital mortuary.
