The body of Faith Wausi, 23, was discovered by school children at around 6am. The body had several stab wounds.

Allegedly, the deceased was killed by the husband, Oliver Musiya, 28, after a domestic quarrel.

Neighbours said the two used to quarrel frequently and on Sunday night, the same happened.

Lilian Wanjiru, a resident, said she heard screams at around midnight and was tempted to go out and find out the cause of alarm.

“I heard the first scream and wanted to go out but was scared because it was dark. I then heard a second scream and then the night went dead silent,” said Wanjiru.

Musiya allegedly stabbed Wausi several times then left her on the road. It is suspected the deceased was running away from the husband since their house is a few metres from where she bled to death.

Area chief Michael Kang’ethe, who was at the scene of the incident, said the deceased might have been saved if her distress calls were answered.

“I urge the locals to embrace Nyumba Kumi and always come out to answer distress calls even in cases of domestic violence, so we do not have another case like this one,” said Kang’ethe.

Police took the body of the deceased to the city mortuary, even as they launched a manhunt for the husband who could not be traced.
