An elderly woman shocked many after stripping naked in broad daylight after a neighbor’s tree fell on her piece of land.
The incident, which happened last week in Ibencho, Kenyenya, Kisii County left many in shock, with the woman unperturbed with the many onlookers.
The young man who was cutting the trees was equally shocked, and could not find words to explain the incident.
He, however, said the woman overreacted since the felled trees did not destroy anything, and they only fell to her land by sheer bad luck.
He said he was to clear the mess, but the woman came and could hear none of it.
The residents condemned the woman’s act, saying it was culturally wrong for a woman her age to strip stark naked in front of a young man.
In the Kisii cultural beliefs, it is wrong for a woman old enough to be your mother to strip naked before a young man in anger, as this might lead to curses following him in his entire life.
Some of the things that might happen in such a case include being unable to bear children.
