Susan Nduta, 40, narrates that her husband left her the moment she gave birth to her fourth child a few years ago when she realised she was a prostitute and she has struggled to makes ends meet ever since.

The single mother of four told the press that she has raised all her children with sex work and she is not ashamed of her efforts.

“I am not ashamed of my work because I can have my daily meal with my children who some of them are in high school while others have finished,” she said

She said that her first born has completed the KCSE examinations while others are primary and secondary schools who she managed to pay their school fees through the hustle and tussle of prostitution.

Nduta said that her relatives abandoned her when they found out she was a commercial sex worker but her children stood by her to the very end.

“Even my relatives abandoned me when they found out this is my way of living and they have never relented to help me in any way whatsoever,” Nduta said.

She cited rape and clients refusing to pay her as some of the many challenegs she has been facing.

Nduta, however, told the press she has managed to survive thanks to the Wapate initiative which came out handy to rescue sex workers over assault.

She has blamed unemployment in Kiambu county and has urged Governor William Kabogo to save the sex workers.

Nduta was speaking on Wednesday in Thika town.
