A woman in Nyanguru in Nyakoe, Kitutu Chache South Kisii County has asked police in the area to arrest her brother who demolished her house on Friday leaving her in the cold.
According to residents, the woman identified only as Moraa had gone out to Nyakoe market on Friday morning but when she returned back home at around 2 pm, she found her house demolished and all her belongings taken away.
“I was away when my brother demolished the house and took 4 sacks of maize and household items that were inside the house. I want him arrested and compelled to build a new house for me and give me back my belongings,” she said.
She said the brother went into hiding after the incident. Residents blamed the woman’s father who supported his son to demolish the house.
“It is bad for the father to incite his son to destroy the house. If they don’t want the woman at home, they could have told her to move away from the home,” said Bartholomew Ogwora, a resident.
