Youth and Women groups from Nyaribari Chache have received money from the Uwezo fund Kitty.
Speaking when he gave out the cheques to the groups, the Nyaribari Chache Member of Parliament Richard Tong’i urged the groups to make sure that they used the money wisely and return it so that they could be given more money.
Tong’I also blamed other politicians of mixing politics into the matters of Uwezo fund. He noted that some of his competitors had been spreading rumors that money from the kitty had been embezzled.
“This money we are giving you is a loan that is supposed to help you grow in your businesses and other developments. I am aware that the matter had been made complicated by other politicians but I have come today to confirm that the money for people of this constituency is there and I urge you to repay it so that you can get more,” said Tong’i.
Meanwhile, Magenche ward representative Timothy Obwogo gave out iron sheets to be used to build motorbike shades for Bodaboda operators of Eberege market.
Obwogo also called on the youth to resists substance abuse and to stop engaging in activities that may lead to them contacting HIV/AIDS. Obwogo also visited many other projects that are ongoing in Nyabiore market and Nyabiore girls’ secondary school.
