This is according to the First Lady, Margaret Kenyatta.She affirmed that women would continue to be her priority just as they have been to the Jubilee government in the last four years. "Jubilee has invested resources and funds targeted for women and the youth; the Uwezo funds, Linda Mama. And President Uhuru Kenyatta has promised that, when re- elected, he and the Jubilee government will expand women enterprises and resources to empower women so that they can support their families," said Margaret.
She assured that she would work with Maendeleo Ya Wanawake (MYWO) to support their efforts to train and equip women with skills and seed funding for women to start their businesses. "Another area that is important to me is to see that women will no longer walk long distances to fetch water<" she said, Thursday. First Lady was speaking in Maralal where she interacted with women and young girls drawn from both Marsabit and Samburu."And today I come with a message from the president to tell you the people of Samburu and Marsabit counties that the Jubilee government has assured Kenyans that it will bring fresh water closer to your homes," she affirmed.
