Speaking during the ceremony that took place at the Kisii Cultural Center, Governor Ongwae thanked Cooperative College lecturer Prof Esther Gicheru for the well prepared curriculum tha the graduates went through.

Ongwae said that the curriculum had been prepared specifically to meet the needs of the women groups' leaders.

He urged graduates to sensitise their members on the available business opportunities and encourage them to engage in activities that will empower them economically.

He further noted that his government will offer more training opportunities for women as they play a key role in development of the society.

Ongwae was accompanied by the Kisii County Commissioner Chege Mwangi, Maendeleo Ya Wanawake national secretary Elizabeth Mayieka and Prof Esther Gicheru from the Cooperative College.

The graduates were drawn from all Sub Counties in Kisii County. Some of the lessons they went through include table banking, cooperate management among other skills.
