Women from Kandara constituency have dared DPP Keriako Tobiko to pursue criminal charges against embattled MP Alice Wahome.
The 50 women said the matter regarding the legislator had been blown out of proportion in the media and said “it shows total disrespect for women in power”.
“While appreciating that the rule of law must be upheld, we regret the public lynching in social media of Hon Alice Wahome, which is totally unrelated to the facts, but to the prevailing political circumstances,” said Kigumo MP Wangari Mwaniki at a press briefing.
Trouble started for Wahome after a video went into circulation showing her confront IEBC returning officer Martin Malonza.
The fracas began when President Uhuru Kenyatta’s 440 votes were allocated to another candidate Japheth Kaluyu who had received zero votes.
