As President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto continue with the uphill task of forming a cabinet, women are demanding that half of the yet-to-be-formed cabinet positions be given to them.''We note that there is a calculated and a sustained effort to exclude women from positions of power and to undermine their rights and gains as enshrined in the constitution.'' A statement by the Kenya Women's Consultative Forum read in part. Women participating in the forum contended the president should go beyond the two-thirds principle and include more women in his cabinet line-up.They also said that the current parliament was illegal as it did not satisfy the two thirds constitutional threshold.
