Miriti said majority of women from the region are not aware of importance of exercise, hence, hardly engage in it.

Speaking in Sabaki village within Mavoko Sub County on Sunday, Miriti said women’s health can greatly improve if they can engage in exercise.

"Women suffer from many illnesses which are preventable through simple exercises, though most of them do not understand importance of engaging in exercise," said Miriti.

Miriti said conditions such as high blood pressure, hypertension and trauma among others would be avoided if only women get engaged in exercise.

“It is very healthy to do exercises such as walking, jogging, sporting activities and gym. Exercise also helps women to maintain their body weights,” notes Miriti.

Currently Miriti is working on a program within the organization to in cooperate women of all ages and provide them with exercise facilities.
