Kangundo sub-county residents on February 4, 2016 lauded Machakos county Maendeleo ya Wanawake chairperson Fransisca Mutinda and the county first lady Lilian Nganga for attending cancer screening awareness meeting.
The meeting was held at Kangundo DEB primary school in Kangundo sub-county.
Speaking in the meeting, Ms Mutinda encouraged women to turn out in large numbers and get early cancer screening which is the best way to reduce cancer associated deaths in the county.
"It would be my joy to see every woman sacrificing her time to get cancer screening as it has become threat in all parts of the world. I don't want to see more people losing lives from Machakos county due to ignorance," she said.
Mutinda promised to take cancer awareness campaigns to every corner of the county so as to reach more women for the awareness.
She noted that leadership is all about actions but not the empty political bickering Machakos county people have been treated to.
