Nyanza regional fund coordinator Isaac Langat said they have reached out to over 9,000 women groups in the region.

Langat said the uptake of the fund is commendable and women groups are good at repaying the loans.

“I am very happy with women groups in Nyanza region due to their quick way of repaying the loans,” he said.

He said they are able to give the loan to other women groups since the repaying rate is excellent.

Speaking at Nyatege Primary School in Kisumu East Constituency where they donated school desks, Langat said some women still fear applying for the loans.

He said it is very simple to apply for the women enterprise loans since it has no interest attached and no collateral.

“Applying for the women enterprise loan is the easiest thing and women should not fear. Let them come together in a group of more than ten women, get registered and apply for the loan,” he said.

Langat encouraged women not to fear taking loans since it is only loan that will spur development in the region.

He said women enterprise fund is out to empower women to have capital for starting businesses and be able to feed their families.
