A number of women from different Christian religious denominations on Saturday held prayers at the notorious Sachangwan black spot in Nakuru following deaths of several Kenyans over the past few months.

Led by Rhoda Chepchirchir, the intercessors said that evil forces are to blame for the fatal accidents being witnessed on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.

The women also said that only prayers can stop the deaths occurring at the spot.

"Our intercessory group was told by the spirit to visit the black spot for divine prayers," she said, as quoted by The Star.

The women have been praying over different issues including the political stalemate in the nation. They said that God has been revealing several things to them through visions.

The intercessors asked the government to protect every one regardless of status, and warned motorists against drunk driving, saying that the devil is using them to take lives of innocent Kenyans.

During the prayers, the women performed different activities to cleanse the area including pouring salt, water and anointing oil.

Leaders and Kenyans have raised concern over the increased number of accidents in the area with drivers being put on the spot over careless driving.
