The women leaders led by the nominated Member of County Assembly Josephine Ombati and Rosemary Obara, business lady, in Kisii town have faulted mothers in the county for not educating their girls on good morals.

The two said that for now prostitution is a big challenge in the county and called on the county leaders to take action on the issue.

“Girls as young as 10 years in our county are engaging in prostitution,” notes Ombati.

Obara says that she always see young ladies on streets in the evening and wonders why women MCAs are not acting to tame the vice.

Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi however, blamed the vice on the university girls.

He said that the town has a vibrant night life because of the high number of young people.

“We have 23 universities in Kisii hence high number of young people,” said Maangi.
