The County Government of Nakuru is sampling 4,000 ultramodern commercial buildings plans for licensing in the town`s Central Business District in the quest for an expanded corporate space and presence in the town over the next four years.
Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui said the building plans amount to Sh15 billion worth of investment by local and foreign investors in Nakuru town.
Kinyanjui said they are reaching out on investors in the private sector for partnerships that will facilitate the expansion of office space to attract more investment in the town.
He urged land owners with idle land in the town to seek ways of developing it in line with the county government`s building law within the time frame.
The Governor was addressing women investors in Nakuru during a business partnership cocktail hosted by Kenya Women Holding (KWH) group of companies.
He launched the Nakuru region ENA HUB building owned by KWH.
KWH Chief Executive Officer Dr. Jenifer Riria said the group of companies intends to pump Sh1 billion in a modern mall to be built in the town.
She said the program seeks to enable women become active participants in the economic growth of Nakuru town.
