Consolidating the women and youths vote is what Nakuru County Assembly Speaker Susan Kihika is counting on ahead of her senatorial bid come 2017.
Speaking at Hotel Legacy on Saturday, Kihika exuded confidence in emerging victorious having been born and brought up in a political family.
She called on women to rally behind her arguing that lack of trust among themselves was the main reason why few women excelled politically.
"Time has come for us (women) to stand up and drive the change we want in our society because I believe we have the capacity of transforming this modern society," she said.
"Let's not give our male counterparts an easy day on the ground by creating unnecessary enmity among ourselves, count on me," she asserted.
The Hotel Legacy meeting was one of similar meeting the speaker plans to hold with women groups from different parts of the larger Nakuru County as part of her strategy ahead of 2017.
