Kayole Starlets and Soccer Queens settled for a barren draw as the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women Premier League second leg began yesterday at the Impala Sports Club.
In the first leg encounter, Queens suffered a 1-0 loss to Starlets.
With the Saturday point, Queens coach Amos Kimani is optimistic of a good run despite the challenges his team has faced.
“It was a good match and picking a point means it is a sign of good things in the second leg. We started the match well, creating chances but converting was a big problem," he said.
“We are now focused on the return match against the defending champions Thika Queens. This will not be easy considering the fact that we are playing against a very good side. We need to sharpen our striking skills before the match,” Kimani added.
Soccer Queens missed the input of Sharon Komulo, Sharon Adhiambo and Tracy Atieno who are out with injuries while Sharon Adhiambo and Stella Anyango are with the U-20 team in camp.
