Women candidates who contested in the various party nominations in Kisii County have complained about a lack of consideration as parties nominated politicians to county and the National assembly.
Led by former Kisii county Woman representative Mary Otara on Thursday morning said they were surprised to realise that they were not nominated despite investing heavily in the party.
They faulted the ODM and Jubilee nomination list published in the Kenya Gazette, saying it is comprised of political novices who were picked in disregard to an earlier party agreement that they would only nominate those who had shown interest in politics by either contesting or participating in other political spheres.
“It is unfortunate that the Gazette list comprised mainly supporters of the certain politician in the county who seemingly got nominated as a reward at our expense,” added Mary.
She, however, called upon the county government of Kisii to consider them in the allocation of jobs that they are suitable with.
