Mandera County Women Representative Amina Gedow Hassan has revealed why she travelled to Reykjavik Iceland.
Gedow was part of the Kenya’s delegation to the 4th Iceland Geothermal Conference.
The women rep noted that her travel was courtesy of her membership of the parliamentary departmental committee of energy.
She said that the agenda of the 4th Iceland Geothermal conference was to offer an in-depth discussion of the barriers that hinder development of the geothermal sector across the globe and how to overcome them.
“The conference is also focused on the business environment through three separate themes, vision, development and operations.The Iceland Geothermal conference 2018 also offered us the Kenyan delegation together with all other delegations from across the works significant field trips to nearby geothermal projects and easy access to globally renowned geothermal energy experts,” stated Amina.
Gedow noted that the Kenyan delegation learnt invaluable lesson from the conference in Reykjavik and they look forward to incorporating their first experiences into shaping policy and legal frameworks for the betterment and development of geothermal energy projects in Kenya as they seek to achieve the nation’s 2030 vision goals of sustainable clean energy.
