Nyamira County Women Representative Jerusha Momanyi has asked Nyamira County male politicians to involve women when making development decisions in their areas of administration.
The MP said women in deep villages lack exposure especially on development matters in the region.
“The number of Nyamira women participating in active politics in Nyamira County is low. Male politicians should help aspiring women politicians in the region to rise to be good leaders for gender equitability purposes,” she noted.
Jerusha challenged parents across the county to educate the girl child in the society.
“The levels of girl child education in Nyamira County are too low because most parents have failed to take girls to school.
"It is time parents to ensure girls are enrolled in schools to get proper education so that they can become good leaders in future," she said.
