Machakos Women representative Dr. Susan Musyoka on Saturday lamented over the purchase of drilling machines that were officially launched on Friday by the governor Dr. Alfred Mutua.

Musyoka alleged that the County government had purchased old drilling machines instead of new machines as previously planned.

Speaking during the funeral service of Wavinya Ndeti’s father, Peter Ndeti, Musyoka lamented that the County government had spent Sh100 million on old machines.

“If there is no unity, serving residents becomes a fault. The drilling machines that have been purchased are old things that will not work efficiently, which are a show of corruption in our County,” said Musyoka.

Wavinya Ndeti is a former MP of Kathiani Constituency in Machakos County.

Present during the funeral service was the Machakos Deputy governor Bernard Kiala, together with Mavoko Member of Parliament Patrick Makau.

Kiala called upon the religious leaders to step up and try uniting the county leadership, so that Machakos residents can receive proper service from the County.

The complaint comes a day after Dr. Alfred Mutua launched 20 drilling rigs, an exercise that took place in Machakos peoples’ Park on Friday that saw a test run of the machines.

Mutua stated that the borehole drilling exercise would kick off from Monday (yesterday) in the 70 locations of the County.
