The women on Tuesday hit out at Cord leaders accusing them of being hypocrites.

The women claimed that Cord move not to follow the constitution on the IEBC matter is a clear indication that they disrespect the constitution.

“Cord leaders led by Raila Odinga should respect the constitution they fully supported in 2010, it’s unfortunate for them to contravene that laws they voted for,” said Stella Kinyua, Maendeleo Ya Wanawake (MYWO) Treasure in Limuru.

Ms Kinyua stated that they are concerned by the Cord weekly chaotic protests. She indicated that issues surrounding IEBC can never be addressed through protests.

“The laws are clear on what should be done when it comes to constitutional matters,” she said.

Jane Karanja, a women coordinator in Limuru accused Cord of using young people and women to advance their chaotic protests.

Ms Karanja appealed to women to shun Cord protests and instead engaged in other meaningful activities.

The women at the same time called on religious leaders to seriously intervene on the IEBC matter. “The church and outer religions should not remain mum on the IEBC matters and instead should use their power to intervene,” added Ms Karanja.

The government on Tuesday banned Cord weekly protests. However Cord has vowed to continue with their protests until when the Jubilee government will honour up to dialogue.
