Women who give birth at home have been urged to visit health centers to register their children.
The plea has come after it was discovered that many women do not register their children after they give birth at their respectful homes
Speaking on Monday, health officer Mathew Kayota who accounts for children register in Kisii county said when children get registered it will be easy for the government to record the number of children who are born in a certain month so as to help in planning for the nation.
“We have discovered that some of the women who deliver at home do not register their children in the government record book," said Kayota.
"I urge them once they visit any of heath center for the first vaccination of their children to make sure they register them," he added.
He also advised pregnant women to always visit health centers during their pregnancy period for their own benefit noting that it is not good for them to give birth at home.
