According to a study published by University of Oxford, you should avoid women with longer ring fingers because they are potentially unfaithful. The same study recommends women who have the index and ring fingers of similar length because they are likely to be faithful.
This study supported an earlier research on women and men fingers by National Research University in Russia to gauge career orientations. It was published in the journal Personality and Individual Differences. The study says that the differentials are more pronounced on the left hand in women.
Women with short index fingers compared to their ring fingers are likely to take up roles that were initially perceived to be masculine like industry managers. On the other side, those with longer index fingers than their ring fingers are likely to take up traditionally female jobs like nursing.
However, the lead researcher, Professor John Nye said that how a high exposure to testosterone affects choice of jobs is still unclear. He encouraged more study to be carried out in different cultures to determine its accuracy.
