Speaking on Monday at his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) office, while issuing police vans which will be used for patrols across the Constituency, Koinange noted that the proximity of Kiambaa to Nairobi makes it more prone to attacks.

"We are living in very challenging times in terms of security. We have to work closely with security agencies to keep our constituency safe,” said Koinange.

He further urged residents to embrace all measures including Nyumba Kumi Initiative to boost area security.

At the same time Koinange has differed with those calling for devolvement of security saying it is not only unwise but dangerous.

"We cannot have 47 police units; that will bring disharmony in the force. Security agencies must remain under one command because we are one country. Governors might also be tempted to abuse the privileges hence making the matter worse,” said Koinange.

He issued two police vans which will be used in police patrols across the constituency.
