Director Kadiri said that with the devolution, the public are expecting a lot from their governments and therefore, county officers at the grass root level should ensure that funds meant to uplift the livelihoods of the locals are used wisely.

He said those officers are the face of Governor Jack Ranguma and they must ensure programmes are running as intended.

“The face of the county is on these officers and their work on the ground should represent the governor of the county,” said Director Kadiri.

Kadiri said the public should not waste time travelling to Kisumu in case they have issues with the county, but to raise such issues with the county representatives.

Speaking in Kisumu when he met the administrators on Wednesday, Kadiri said that the people must now get services closer to them.

He noted that before devolution, the five local authorities in Kisumu County were offering services to their people.

“Kisumu residents were getting services closer to them before devolution and after the new constitution was promulgated it was clearer that services will be even more closer, especially at the Ward and sub-counties administrators’ offices closer to them,” said Kadiri.
