Nakuru County Commissioner Mohammed Birik has assured that security in the county has been beefed up as Kenyans celebrate Mashujaa Day.

Speaking after meeting a section of Bondeni Ward residents, Birik said that police are always prepared to deal with any form of crime or violence. He said they have enough man power and nothing will hinder them from protecting residents and their property.

“I want to ask Nakuru residents to build trust in the police and work with them to effectively combat crime,” he said.

The commissioner stated more security strategies have been put in place and that no resident should fear. He asked residents to work with police as they strive to maintain law and order.

He asked residents to desist from acts that will disrupt peace adding that the county will only register development if there is peaceful environment.

Birik has asked Kenyans to turn in large numbers for the event that is ongoing at the Afraha stadium.
