This comes few days after angry county MCAs demanded resignation of County Commissioner Josephine Onunga following a series of insecurity incidents.

Speaking at Gesima ward during issuance of Sh150,000 to a local women group, area Women Representative Alice Chae urged residents to share critical information with officers to thwart criminal related activities.

“I want to challenge all of you to work with the security officers to combat crime related activities in this region. Security is a concern of everybody and as residents, we are all stakeholders. Let us share information with officers so that we can combat the crimes,” she said.

“These criminals stay amongst us and it’s unfair sometimes to always accuse security officers for not doing enough. Embrace Nyumba Kumi initiative because I think it’s an ideal tactic in combating crime in our society,” she said.

Her statement was backed by area Assistant Deputy County Commissioner Veronica Wangui who reiterated commitments of the security officers towards curbing crime.

“As security officers, we are working hard all the times to ensure we are all secure. Let us try our best to work with security officers so that we deal properly with criminal elements that are out to cause discomfort amongst us. Report such people to authorities,” she said.
