This is after one of their colleague was allegedly arrested, assaulted, and detained at Mau Summit Police station for over two days without appearing before Court.

The detained worker is said to have been assaulted by the Chineses employer before being handed over to the police.

“The workers are accusing the Chinese Construction Company of brutality against its staff saying that Gideon Kiplangat a guard at the firm was attacked at night by one of the Chinese nationals who called the police after launching his attack on the guard,” said Building Construction and Timber Union Secretary Maurice Chisoga.

“We suspect Police officers are colluding with the Chinese employers in torturing locals who earn peanuts from the hard labor. This has to stop because they are human beings and they deserve to be treated fairly,” he added.

The accused, identified as Wang, was allegedly found negotiating with the police for the release of the victim before he appeared at the Court.
