“We appreciate support from World Bank that have helped improve waste management through a successful LVEMP 2 project and we are working towards the establishment of an integrated solid waste management system in the next phase,” he said.
He further noted that a proper solid waste management system will create employment opportunities and also improve sanitation in Homa bay town.
On her part, World Bank coordinator Ms. Siuko Yoshijawa affirmed the organization's commitment to environmental management.
“We are working consultatively with the county administration to design the scope of the project because we intend to consider all the eight sub counties in our plans,” she uncovered.
