Machakos county government has been ranked as the best performing county government alongside Uasin Gishu county in a recently conducted survey that srived to measure public perception on the success of devolution.
The World bank conducted the survey in a measure to increase public participation in the naming of the performing counties in the country.
The citizens who took part in the survey conducted between last December and the just concluded August were asked to assess the performance of their counties in the delivery of services to the residents as a whole.
This was done with key devolved functions such as provision of health services, transport and public works, roads building and tarmacking, early childhood education, prevention of pollution and agricultural improvement among other devolved functions.
