The World Bank is supporting three local universities in establishing Africa Centres of Excellence II (ACE II) project.

The centres will cover three different areas namely: Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Agriculture and Agribusiness Management to be based at Egerton University, Sustainable Use of Insects as Food and Feed at Jaramogi Odinga Oginga University of Science and Technology and Centre of excellence in Phytochemicals Textiles and Renewable Energy at Moi University. Each ACE II project will receive $6 million (Ksh600 million) from the World Bank.
